Re: Not Osprey

Cool bird photos Rocket.

Do you think you might be tempted by either of canon's 600mm f/11 or 800mm f/11?

Re: Not Osprey

Neat!  Seeing your wildlife pictures make me want to get outdoors and find some of those birds too.  What's your first impression of Canon R7 compared to the Canon 90D?  What advantages or disadvantages are you finding?

Re: Alien fungus

The fungus does look out-of-this-world, so dark and mysterious.

Re: Not Osprey

They both interest me since most of my shooting is done around high noon. But living in Ohio we have more cloudy then sunny days. If I got one would probably be the 800 . I need to get my 70-200L to shop .A friend of mine dropped it and bought themselves a new one because it's focus is off so they gave it to me. Canon came back with a quote of $350 to repair so I'm thinking pretty cheap for a $1500-$2000 lens. Lol

Not bad! Wish I had a friend like that.

Re: Alien fungus re- Digirame

Thank you for taking a look. And yes this exposure was selected for the “what you don’t see” effect. However it is a neat and colorful subject on it’s own.

Re: More test with extender/R7
1

So for this test I was shooting a bit closer about 40 feet instead of yards lol. But it seems not much sofenting from using the extender. On the humming bird that is more of result of DPP I guess built in noise reduction. I still haven't figured out hot to shut it off but it reminds me of sliding the luminescence control slider to far up in light room causing a creamy look.

Your test photos look great.  Are these birds found in your backyard?

Thank you and yes, I have 7 acres of woods that encircles my yard so lots of wildlife including a Bobcat that so far I have not been able to get a shot of. It's pretty sneaky and fast.

Did you get your rain?  it's so refreshing in the summer as long as it's not too excessive with hail etc.  We are still in the dry season.  I like it when we get our first rains in the autumn.
