I have Angelbird cf epxress PRO type b and not the PRO SE version.

If you can reproduce the card problem on another cf express card, then the problem is with the camera instead of the card.

I have to provide proof of reproducible focusing problem (footages) to Canon before they will take a look. They have repaired my R5C under warranty and it is good as gold.

Don't be surprised the problem can occur with new camera like R5C even though it maybe rare.

Personally, R5c is a better cinema camera comparing to R5.... and I use both of them..

All the best!

thanks for the extra info.Totally agree the R5C is a dream camera for hyrbid shooters, its the reason i switched from Sony to Canon as i think its the best all rounder for my needs

I actually have 3 cards now and they are all the same... so yeah clearly a camera issue for me.

Angelbird did get back in contact so im trying to arrange a call with them as they also feel certain its an issue specific to me and have offered to help.

Great to hear and hopefully you can build a case to push Canon to have a look.

I am sure I am not the only videographer who has a problem with new R5c.

Great channel by the way... and I love travel videography

If you have a chance, try Sirui Saturn 35 (390g) on R5C and gimbal during one of your trips.

Did you check the version and update the Firmware on the card using the Angelbird card reader? Recent versions of the firmware work on the R5.

thanks i didnt realise the cards had firmware. I dont have the angelbird card reader so cant check. The cards function correctly mostly its only the capacity disparity when recording video that is an issue. When i chat to Angelbird i will ask them about this and if they think that might be the issue i guess i will need to buy another card reader
