What would you pick as a second camera? - X-T4 main, X100V, Ricoh GR III

Re: What would you pick as a second camera? - X-T4 main, X100V, Ricoh GR III

I find the X100V to be pants pocketable so to me it is compact enough. So to me it would be a choice between camera features.

The X100V has a tilt screen and hybrid view finder and the GR has stabilization and is smaller. Also, the X100V is weather-sealed which is good since you would have to send it in to Fuji to get dust off the sensor.

Since you have both, which one did you use more frequently and why? Which one did you enjoy using more?

Maybe Cargo pants and then it will be swinging around while you walk... not really what most people want.

Relaxed fit jeans work fine with it. Cargo shorts obviously, but front pocket doesn't have it swinging back and forth. However, if you're the skinny-jeans type better stick with the GR.

Very relaxed fit.  I wear normal sized jeans and am 6’1” and 200lbs.  It’s not fitting in any pants pockets I have.

and they are not "Cargo pants."  It doesn't swing.  You can "feel it" a bit though, the GR is like invisible.  But the X100V can fit in a. wide range of pants too.

If you are the skinny type with tight jeans, then I agree that no.

Again, I wear normal size pants and it doesn’t fit.  I’m not skinny.  I’m not fat.  My waist is 36 in the USA and I’m over 6’ tall.  I can’t imagine stuffing that camera in my pants and pretending it’s ok.

Used to shoot a lot of with the X100F, then upgraded to the X100V when it was released. Used it for several trips and then overtime figured out that I enjoyed having a bit more flexibility than the 35mm and added the Ricoh for slighty wider shots, but also easy to hand over to my non-photography girlfriend and snap a photo.

So my X100V used to be my main camera, and Ricoh has always been a second body / pocketable/social camera when a big camera weren't warranted.

Then I got the deal with the X-T4 + 16-55mm and have been enyoing it quite a lot so I decieded to keep that as my new main camera.

So the easy choice would just be to keep them all lol

For me personally I have never been able to pocket my X100V, it only fit in my winter jacket with a relatively large outer pocket.

I have used the capture clip from Peak Design to hang it on my belt, which has worked quite okay actually.

It's securely out of the way, while still being in a draw distance to capture a moment. If you practice you will be the best shooter in the west

It seems we both have different experiences. Maybe there's a Jean type with more pocket, but on my shorts which are fine, not cargo, the X100V does fit.

But it can be "felt" a bit while the GR is invisible.

X100V because it has similar controls and experience. Even files and processing technique would be similar as they share same sensor.
X100v also has EVF and I'm comfortable with 35mm equivalent.
If you ask about GRiiix then that comes with 40mm equivalent but still i'll go with X100v considering I already have X-t4
If i don't have X-T4 and if i have to choose between X100v and GRiiix it's tough to decide.
