NE Texas Meandering

A7iv first shots from our outing in NE Texas. Still learning the camera, but am very pleased so far!

It's the lil' things! Loving the 2.8 on the Tamron 28-200. Perfect Walk-about lens (missing 24mm though)

Shot dark testing dynamic range. I could pull almost full sunlight levels! Greens close to my Nikon images

"Footprints in the Sand" Monument, Carthage, TX.

"Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea..." (over-sharpened)

Wanted the silhouette, but again amazed at how much shadow I could pull out!

Why I need the 200-600! Super cropped, but thankful for the 33mp of the A7iv. Still learning the AF, focused on the wing reflection. Amazing Blue Herons in NE Tejas!

Very nice - I like the square crop, the sharpness where it matters, the colors, and how the antennae look like a string of white pearls.

Thanks, Lichtspiel. I'm fond of a square framing for lots of subjects.

A beautiful portrait, Paul. One of my favorite birds. Aren't they patient! They will wait a long time for their meal!

Re: Fading Forest Light

I love scenes like this with strips or patches of light. A nice opportunity indeed.

A very nice set of images.  Yes, I'll bet you could have pulled up a LOT of shadow detail in that image, but WOW, you sure made the right choice by going with the silhouette.  Just love the latitude of the A7xx original files.... allowing for such wonderfully subtle transitions between shades of color in a sunset like this.  Have fun : )
