Canon 100-300 L tripod ring mount?

Hi,

Although this is a relatively light lens I have this attached via an adaptor and would like to mount this on a tripod. Can anyone recommend a tripod ring mount that would fit the 100-300 5.6 L?

Thanks in advance.

Do you really mean the old 1987ish EF 100-300 F5.6L.

There is not a tripod mount available for that ancient lens. Will also difficult to fabricate one, The old 100-300L is a push-pull zoom lens

Yes, that's the one. I was remaining hopeful as there is a gap between the zoom and body-end of the lens, even when closed.

I no longer have the EF 300mm f4 L, but I used to use the tripod mount on other smaller lenses by filling the gap with foam rubber.

You should be able to research the various diameters and I saw a few third party ones on eBay as well.  They aren't cheap.

Problem solved, John. Turns out there's a tripod mount for the adapter itself (Sigma MC-11 EF to E), so this is an even better solution.
