Lots of us are loving this monsoon season to help cool down Vegas.  This storm hit around sunset and kept going into the early night.

That's a great project.

Yes, it can be both fun and challenging.

Nice poses for the damsels!

Thanks Richard.

A really excellent capture, especially considering it was manually focused. Very nice work.

Re: Sunday morning birding walk.

That's a really nice haul of bird images over only 2 hours that show the capabilities of both the A7R IV and the photographer. I think the fairywren is my favorite.

Thank you 😊 😊. I tend to manual focus mid way between flowers and let the bees come to me. It seems to work better than using auto focus, 20fps helps!!!

It's always good to have projects for ourselves, Richard. Then we always have a reason to keep up with our cameras even when new inspirations temporarily elude us. Thanks for sharing yours.

Very nice. The color of the sea looks really unusual for us living in landlocked country.

Think view from Petfen hill my favourite.  Nice to see the Tamron 28-200 doing well as an all round lens.  Just had mine since  late May and us it a lot.  Love your backdrop everyday canvas of what I assume is Prague.

Thank you. The 28-200 really is the perfect walkaround lens, wonderfully capable yet light and small. I only bought mine in June as well.

And yes, I live in Prague although I am not from here - lots of lovely spots to explore.

Irvine Marsh - Jul 31 A1 200-600
5

Here are some shots from this morning at the Irvine Marsh near the coast in Southern California. We had clouds rolling in but we made it out before the much needed rain.

The Grebe's have a rather broad breeding season so we still have some tucked away in the feathers on mom's back - while some others seem to be approaching maturity quickly.

The A1 does a great job of tracking fast moving skimmers and keeping them in focus as they skim toward you. This shot is interesting as it shows the minnows jumping out of the water to avoid being snapped up.

Papa Grebe shows up with a rather large meal - a couple of the young try to grab and swallow it but it's too big. These are tiny crops from across the pond

An immature Anna's hummingbird.

As we were in the parking lot and packing up - a birdwatching couple pointed out the Road Runner at the edge of the lot in the bushes - he was running around the bush in fast circles trying to scare out a meal. Here a caught him briefly before he gave up and moved on

End of day on Lake Ontario

I just stepped up this month to full-frame (a7iv) from MFT. This hand-held shot is unusual subject matter for me; I usually shoot landscapes from a tripod in the Appalachians.

any feedback is welcome

A very nice set, Glenn. I like the story the first three tell about the Grebe family, but I think my favorite image is the last one.
