My 2 cents on R5+100-500+1.4x vs R7+100-500
3

R5 - 1/400 F/9.0 ISO 200 631mm

R7 - 1/800 F/6.3 ISO 200 431mm

I have noticed R7 does have a bit more shutter shock compared to R5 at these Zoom levels. My conclusion is to use R7 for wildlife and R5 for everything else. R7 is getting a separate bag with 100-500, 800, and 1.4x :).  Both photos are cropped to 2880x1920 pixels.  The exposure was chosen by the camera.  The focus was on the star-looking thing (center point).

Wish my photos would evoke the emotions, that led me to take them in the first place.

Hello Reza

You have better eyes than me .... I can't detect any real difference .. both look fine to me.  I always find it difficult to isolate shutter shock from other causes.

The 100-500 with FOV of 700 is right in the range for lens movement when not tripod bound

Thanks for the comparisons Reza ... helpful for me

Shutter shock will not be noticeable at higher shutter speed bit at the speed I shot the R7 for this comparison I was noticing them.  I ended up shooting in electronic shutter mode.  You right though that there is no real difference here and the R7 has the advantage oh higher shutter speed and bigger aperture, plus you get to use the full range of 100-500.

Thanks for your work Reza. I would suggest to make short comparison using full capabilities of each setup. Means maximum zoom on the same object in the same distance, share full resolution. Everyone can make crop as he want. Would be highly appreciated.

Here you go, two completely unedited full-res photos. The camera picked the exposure, both in AV mode at the minimum aperture possible. Lens was mounted on a tripod, just the bodies were swapped.
