Any ZS100-200 owners up to an experiment?
As I am relatively new to Panasonic, I have been playing the experiment with defaults game for some time now. Had at one time went with the suggested defaults on this forum of "Contrast +2 - sharpening +2 - noise reduction -5. Saturation +1, also exposure comp -1/3, auto iso (max 1600); f4 is the sweet spot of the lens."
But of recent have been happier with a different set of choices. Just curious if anyone would like to try these on their camera and comment on the differences and what their opinion is. Make no claim saying these should be considered better or worse which is understandably highly personal preference, only curious as to personal observation.
Settings as follows: using standard slot or custom slot, which does not seem to affect end result, Contrast 0, - sharpening +5, - noise reduction -3, Saturation 0.
I will offer that in general with my other brands of cameras, I seldom like the effect when any amount of added sharpening is dialed in, generally leaving it at 0 or -1, -2. So the use of the +5 was completely foreign to me and only first tried as a "what the heck" moment. I am typically prone to reducing noise reduction some amount, and at times raising or lowering the saturation depending on which camera it is.
In addition, my zs100 seems to favor small lens openings like f7.1 and f8.
Anyway, if you dare to compare, what's your response. This just seems to give me the pop that I many times am looking for without overdoing it.
And feel free to tell me it's crazy wrong if that's what you see. And I also suppose it could vary with individual cameras.
