I almost didn't take a camera on my early morning stroll today but at the last second I grabbed my 330 which, in a moment of rash decision, I put on Auto just to see how it would do
Normally I shoot the 330 on P so I can have some control (A or M on my DSLRs)
(all of these images were tweaked in LIghtroom and cropped)
So I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary this morning but I always have a camera with me (I've never taken a pic with my phone, BTW) just in case
So the stroll started out with typical snapshots, nothing special, just seeing how the 330 does on Auto

I'm not taking many pics because I'm not really a snapshot shooter, I need to be telling a story. So...
I get over by a small park with lots of trees and squawking ravens

There's quite a few of them and they're all making a racket. I thought at first they were brothers arguing

One would squawk right above me, then he'd be joined by another and they'd squawk together...all the while others were squawking over to my left

All this time I'm shooting my 330 on Auto wondering if I'm capturing anything. Then it became apparent that there was a pair of hawks circling these ravens and that's what the racket was about, all were shouting out warnings
So, with me shooting on Auto with my 330, here's the first attempt at capturing a circling hawk

Finally one of the hawks landed in a tree over to my left and this is the best my 330, on Auto with Auto AF doing it's magic, or failing to acquire sharp focus is more like it

Here I am pointing directly at the hawk and the Auto AF's focal point was all over the place except on the hawk. I was getting frustrated by this point
Anyway, this hawk and his partner took off and circled around some more, ravens squawking all around me and here's my 330 on Auto's rendition of BIF

On the way back I took my time (on P this time) and got this helicopter heading west
I wasn't taking any focus chances this time so focus was set to "Infinity"
