Wide Angle Lens Adapters

Hi all! New to Digital Photography, but getting the hang of it more and more and I've definately been bitten by the (shutter) bug.   I want to get into Landscape and Wildlife photography, mostly.  I have a nice zoom lens, but I also want a wide angle. As I'm just starting out, I can't plunk several hundred dollars down for a lens, so right now I'm looking at the adapters (converters?)

Looking online I'm getting mixed reviews. Some are said to be good while others claim they are terrible.

What would you guys recommend? My budget is up to $60 (Canadian). My lenses are able to take adapters.  I'm aware a $40 adapter isn't going to come close to an expensive wide angle lens, but I'm just looking for something to get me started to practice and train with.

Thanks!

(Whoops, should have given my camera.  Canon Rebel xti (400D))

Welcome to the DPR forums!

Oh wow, $60 is very difficult.

There is the Canon EF-S 10-18mm IS STM which is supposed to be really good, but sells for around £100-£150 used.

Otherwise I suggest you look around for a old used sigma or tamron ultra-wide for canon ef.

I want an Ultra-wide too, but I'm waiting until I can afford the 10-18mm IS STM/

Do you mean an Aux wide angle lens attachment?  Such as the ones you screw into the front of an existing lens?  Those things are mainly for old camcorders.  They cause a lot of distortion and chromatic aberrations.  Not really worth it in my opinion.  For $60, I would look into a used 18-55mm STM lens.  That will give you a wide angle of 28mm and should be within your budget.  Or, If you have a little more money, I agree with the previous poster.  The 10-18mm is very good for its price and used prices are decent.
