Just looking for EF mount lenses that are ultra wide that still have a front filter thread if possible.

The EF 20mm F2.8 lens gets bad reviews, but my copy is quite nice.  You may want to look into it.

Would you say the focusing motor isn't too loud? I might use it foe video work.

The EF 16-35 f4 is an AWESOME lens.  If I was still shooting EF I would still have one.  Moved to RF so have the RF 14-35 f4.

+1.  Bought mine for the EOS R.  77mm filter thread.

The ring type USM motor is very quiet.  However, with all video work, a external mic is a good idea.

So did I. Bought it pre owned for less than 1/2 the price of the RF 14-35 f/4. Don't use UWA often, but having a good one for the rare occasions is really nice.

I agree too! I use mine on a 5D MkIV and it’s one of those rare zoom lenses that I’m comfortable using at any aperture/focal length combination. I bought it to replace a Canon 35mm f/2.0IS and a Samyang 14mm. Ok, so 14mm is appreciably wider than 16mm, but 16mm is plenty wide enough for me, and if you’ve ever tried to manually focus the Samyang you’ll appreciate why I like the autofocus on the 16-35mm!
