Car Show
2

This past Saturday I went to a car show and took lots of photos. It was hard to pick which ones were my favorites, as I liked them all.

Photo No. 1 - Notice the Camaro on the left side.

Photo No. 2 - OK, here it is.  What do you see that's extra?

Photo No. 3 - Well, of course a tray of food and drink.   How neat is that?

Photo No. 4 - I just loved the bright colors of these restored cars.

Photo No. 5 - We see a 1960 Corvette.

Photo No. 6 - And a 1956 Chevy (I think that's the year)....

Photo No. 7 - I liked this brightly painted green color.  It's something we rarely see today.

Photo No. 8 - Imagine all the hours it took to restore this beautiful car.

Photo No. 9 - But here's one that was partially restored.  I think they call it a rat rod.

Photo No. 10 - And another closeup....  I hope you liked the series.  Do you see the rat?

Re: Car Show

Hi Digirame,

Those are some beautiful cars, I love the characters that the old cars have. Now a days they've mostly lost the individual looks in comparison to the ones in your photos. So much for progress.

Once again a great set of photos.

It began here.......

Hi all,

I First 'Showed my Snaps' on 19th May 2014 and based the weekly photos loosely around the Canals. The main one being the Macclesfield Canal, I would walk part of this regularly starting at the Marple end of it.

About 26 miles further on, the Canal terminates in Macclesfield. This week I travelled up to Macclesfield to see the locks where the Canal Begins/Ends. Here are some photos of the area.

Car Show - Thanks

Thanks.

Yes, a lot of automobiles these days look similar with some aerodynamic consideration. We see common shapes with wheels and doors and a lot less chrome. Of course, not all of them; some are sporty.

SUVs and trucks are popular, but with the price of gas (petrol) people aren't happy with the filling up of their tanks.  Where I live the common colors are black, white, silver and gray...with occasional reds or blues.

The canals look great with the rolling hills and surrounding flowers. You have lovely countrysides; I enjoyed seeing them. I think your purple flower is extra special. You isolated that one with a beautiful green background,

Re: Car Show1956 Chevy…

I think you’re correct, the 1957 had fins. I was a car crazy 7th grader and carried a salesman’s business card with a turquoise and white 1957 Chevy on the front.

Car Show1956 Chevy…Thanks

Thanks for the reply.  Yes, that makes sense.  The 1957 model had larger fins.  Isn't it amazing how well it was restored?

Dig,

When I was in college, I had a friend who restored 1955 and 1956 Chevys. When properly tuned, they ticked just like a clock. Tick, tick, tick.

They were something.

Re: Car Show

Yes, the 1955 to 1957 Chevy cars were very popular, especially with the 283 V8 option.  The 1960 Corvette also has a 283 V8.  Some were fuel injected.

Re: It began here.......

Hi Digirame, Thank You.

These are parts of the canal I hadn't seen, I spent the best part of two weeks in this area, close to the forest and unfortunately without a decent phone/data signal.

I was also late to see the young in the Heronry, they'd all flown the nests. I still managed a Heron or two though.

The Next Three Show Your Snaps

Would anyone want to host the next three Show Your Snaps threads that are started once a week on Mondays?  I'll be traveling on my summer vacation, starting this coming Friday.  I hope to get lots of photos.

To host this thread, all I've done is respond to anyone's post that shows pictures.  C&C is not required unless someone asks for it.  It's basically an acknowledgement of someone's contribution that often stimulates thought and interest for everyone.

I'm a sucker for shadows.

They're there, but they're not there.

They're a manifestation of what's actually there.

Something that's not there, on a road leading to nowhere.
