Went for a trip to NYC, which just seems to be a city built for a 35mm lens on a Leica! I could share 10s of photos (see my Instagram for more shots) but thought I’d just share some of my favourites here. Even coming from London, NYC is just a hotbed for street photography!

All shots taken with the M240 and Voigtlander 35mm 1.4 II.

Great set of images, am interested in a similar set up. What ISO were the lower light images ? Looks like there isn't much noise.

I think the combination of the areas being well lit and shooting at 1.4 meant that I was able to keep the ISO below about 800.

I previously had the Zeiss 35 2.8, which is fantastic but unfortunately just too slow for the M240….

Its this ISO concern that tells me I will probably be happier with an M10 for the lower light images, but the cost is a bit too much at the moment. I keep on thinking I should try a M240, but I suspect it will be better in the long run to wait. I've got a Q2 which should do, only irritation is the difficulty with its limited manual zone focusing.

I wisk Leica would add a Ricoh like 1, 2.5 & 3.5m manual setting.

I had similar concerns before I picked up the M240, but to be honest I don’t shoot enough at night for it to be a massive issue. And when I do, I make sure I have fast enough lenses!

Agree about NYC being perfect for walkabout photography!

Re: New York City

Totally agree about 35 mm. My company's headquarters in New York. I used to go there every other week before the pandemic, now it's once every couple of months. I started shooting with the 50 and that was too close, then I started shooting with the 21 and that was too wide. The 35 is just right!
