Does anyone know why, a place where its price is like its rele MSRP etc.?

This camera is probably affected by supply chain issues in which parts are hard to come by…

Fujifilm has publicly stated they are having issues with supply chain and covid related problems. It was mentioned by them on their Instagram account a while back. I’m sure there might even be an official statement written somewhere too if one were to look for it on their website.

In context everything is more expensive than it was for. I regard the X100V as a premium product and to be priced accordingly.  I wish it was cheaper too, I would certainly buy one. Well done to those who can find one cheaper that is not a grey market product.

Not over here in Europe it isn't. I find the X-Pro3 (both Dura Silver and non-Dura Black) much cheaper than MSRP new. I find the X-T4 cheaper new. I find other brand cameras cheaper than they were upon release as well. Of all cameras I have sought while doing research the only one I consistently find above MSRP is the X100V. It is why I've been curious about it specifically.

Yes. I believe that is 1300 or so. And I have not complained anywhere about that price. It's the 2000 I am complaining about.

I wish it was cheaper too, I would certainly buy one. Well done to those who can find one cheaper that is not a grey market product.

Cheaper than 1300 would be amazing, obviously, but here we're reached a point of being happy if we find it at 1600.

Supply and demand. Nothing to do with inflation as others suggest. People love this camera. There is one on Amazon at this moment for USD $2249!!

Of course it has also to do with inflation. MSRP have gone up from Fujifilm, also for lenses and other cameras. For example, the price of the XF 35mm f/1.4 has gone up 100 Euros in my country (Portugal).

I guess it is simply in high demand. After the Ricoh GRIII was invented there was a public official (!!!) statement from Ricoh that they have sold 7 times more GRs in the first months than they have expected! Good news for people who care about the future of dedicated cameras. The X100V with the looks, the size, the controls is extremely trendy. The demand might be simply much higher than for other Fujis. The ridiculous prices are from single sellers who want to exploit the situation. It or a new model might become 100,- or 200,- more, but that’s it. I don’t believe for a second that Fuji would intentionally stop the production. I suspect it is simply a huge success for Fuji - and this is well deserved.

And I am sure it is profitable. Hard to compare, but the GRIII is smaller, has IBIS, an incredible good lense and the price - a bit higher now - was 849,-. 550,- less than the X100V.

it’s worth noting that the silver version is circa £2000 GBP and the black version £1640.

On the official fuji uk refurb site the X100V was £999 all of last year, they came into stock every few weeks. But early this year it went up  to £1199. A stock alert came through this week but they went straight away.

I bought the camera for 100000 Indian Rupees from an official dealer back in Jan 2022. It’s 130000 INR on Amazon now from an unofficial source. Official dealer websites also show the price as 130000 but none of them have it in stock.

That could explain it in part, though I’m seeing around a 30% increase in the U.S., from $1,399 to $1,799.

It's still $1399 through regular sales channels like BH Photo and Adorama, but opportunistic resellers might be charging more.

In the UK I notice that 'ALL' used Fujifilm cameras have significantly increased in value. - Even the 2012 x10, x20, x30 series relatively small sensor 12mp cameras are more expensive than they were new here! (Lovely cameras in their day but that's over 10 years ago...)  Strange.

Re: How come is the X100V so expensive nowadays?

At my preferred dealers, Adorama and B&H, the camera is MSRP but is out of stock. You can order it and they will ship it when one is available. Many other outfits have it in stock, but at an inflated price. (Lots of people order at MSRP and, when it comes it, flip it on eBay or wherever.)

This is same for a Toyota RAV4 Prime or the G-Shock 2100 when it first came out.

The simple answer to your question is that the demand exceeds supply. If you want the camera at MSRP, just order it from Adorama.

Why won't Fuji make more? Only they know, but my guess is that they can only make so many cameras and cameras with interchangeable lenses are closer to their long-term strategy. They also want to sell lenses! The X100 series is a specialty model, out of the main line.

Yes, it is true.  Manufacturers need to take notice and realize that there is a market for small, stylish but high quality cameras in the $600-1500 range.

A new Sony RX1 would definitely be interesting.

Oh it certainly would but would most likely be in the $3500 range.

Somewhat disagree. There’s a market for a high end compact fixed lens camera, and Fujifilm is not cashing in on it, of course it’s pure speculation, I think Fujifilm just didn’t anticipate the rise in popularity due to unpredictable trends on social media platforms, combined with the exacerbated chip shortage.
