WINNERS: *** Mini-Challenge #703: Sunsets ***

Thanks to all who entered. There weren't many entries, but the ones we had were really good.

I'll get straight to it.

Honourable Mentions: (in no particular order)

Righard's photo of Badwater, Death Valley National Park, California. I love the foreground interest and the moody sky.

Len's panorama. It's cool that it's a pano, and there's loads of interesting texture in the sky.

Winners:

3rd place goes to ivrcobb's silhouetted tree against a lovely sky. Hard not to like.

2nd place goes to Richard's sunset shot of the sea. So calm, so beautiful. Makes me wish I was there.

1st place goes to Len. I really liked the long exposure affect in the sky, and the reflection on the water below. Altogether peaceful and well balanced.

Len, the next challenge is yours. I'm looking forward to it.

Wow... thanks! I'll have a new challenge up tomorrow.

The other shots are really powerful. I keep looking at Richard's shot of Badwater, for instance. The red sky in the distance looks like the "force" that caused the foreground destruction, in a manner of speaking. Very nice.

Thanks again.

[ technical note ] - My pano was over 2k pixels wide when I uploaded it. But I get only a very small image when I select the full size link. Dunno how or why that's happening. Maybe DPR is downsizing the image if it's above a certain size?

Just out of curiosity, this is the image I uploaded: 2315x650 pixels. Not original size, but larger than what I was getting from the full size link. Let's see if it 'survives'...

Well...

It's probably my fault. I right-clicked the small version (the smaller displayed one) and downloaded it for judging, as I did all the other ones. I then re-uploaded the HMs and winners. I dunno if that's how it's supposed to be done.

BTW no-one panic, I've already deleted your photos off my computer.

No worries at all here. If I was concerned about that I wouldn't post them. I've always just copied+pasted the images. Who knows what's best...

Thanks.
