I had my second go a timelapsing on Saturday:

I'm relatively pleased with it.

Re: Timelapse

You should be pleased with it.  I think it's kind of cool.  I didn't get a chance to play with more video more today, like last weekend.  It's fun to play around with.  Later I'll get some video editing software and hope I can do what you are doing later.  I've got too many other things I'm doing now, but I'm leaning towards taking more video in the future.

One Flower
1

Here's one flower that I took on Saturday. I'll show more photos later.

I was taking pictures on Saturday and today (our national holiday) and I've been too busy to go through all of them and post process. It will be a while.... I took over 300 pictures.

Does anyone know what kind of flower this is? It was for sale at a lavender flower festival that I attended on Saturday.

Dancing and Gymnastics

Today at our 4th of July parade there was a lot of dancing and gymnastics. Here's some of those pictures. Happy the 4th everyone!!! May the fourth be with you.

I brought my mirrorless cameras with me to take some video, but I was so busy taking still photos, that I ended up using just the Canon T7i (800D) camera at the parade. That Canon 18-135mm USM lens that I use with that camera is perfect too. It's been a long time since I've taken pictures at parades due to COVID. I was happy to be able to practice some more. It can be tough with the composition, because they move so fast.

Photo No. 1 - First we see the dancing.

Photo No. 2 - Again....

Photo No. 3 - I always wanted to capture a photo like this. I had enough shutter speed to catch her in the air without motion blur.

Photo No. 4 - Another one....

Photo No. 5 - Again....

Photo No. 6 - A handstand.... I used to be able to do that for a few seconds, but not any more.

Photo No. 7 - They must be made of rubber. Can any of you do that?

Photo No. 8 - I didn't catch them in the air any longer, but I was hoping to see it again. I kept the shutter speed high just in case.  I hope it would have been high enough, but i probably should have had it at 1/1000th of a second.

Photo No. 9 - Now they had bars to try other things.

Photo No. 10 - She did manage to swing over the top. At parades there's so many things to see and capture with the camera. I have tons of other photos, but I thought I would start with these first.

Re: Show Your Snaps...July 4, 2022

Here's a couple of pictures I took yesterday. Of the flowers, I like the second picture better.

My wife wasn't feeling well, so we didn't drive the 30 or 40 miles to see the "official" fireworks. but my next door neighbor set off some of his own. I only had the 55-250 lens with me, so they were kind of in your face. The first couple of shots, I didn't realize that my ISO was set to 400.

Of the flowers, I like the first one better.  When taking pictures of fireworks, I never know what settings to use.  I just try different ones.  Most of them turn out pretty good.  I like your last two photos of the fireworks the best.

1937 John Deere Tractor

Here's a 1937 John Deere tractor I saw at the parade yesterday.  It's still going strong.  I was thinking of Sue Anne when I saw this tractor.  Sue, if you are around, I hope you like this old piece of farming equipment.  I thought it was neat.

Jethro,

I could have had a 100% unobstructed view, but I didn't want to move out in the grass because of the  mosquitos. Looking at the pictures afterwards, I thought the overhanging branches added a little character.

Just out of curiosity, does Great Britain have a custom of setting off fireworks to celebrate any holidays?

Dig,

You did a real nice job of freeze-framing those shots. Those girls look like they're suspended in mid-air.

We have Bonfire Night (Guy Fawkes Night ), on the 5th of November.

It's actually my birthday, too.

I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of any right now.

Dancing and Gymnastics - Thanks

Thanks. Even though it was cloudy, I was able to use higher shutter speeds, thanks to the ability to use high ISO levels. It was much more difficult with my older cameras without a little motion blur, especially if there were some tree shadows too.

Timelapse v.2

This is the same video, but with music added.

I think it adds a nice touch, what do you think?

Yes, the music is nice.  Where do you get the music?  Is that something we can purchase?  I see on YouTube that sometimes music is added to videos.  I always wondered where they get it.

Re: Fire (video)

The fire was quite large.  Was that a part of a cleanup?  We can't have outdoor fires in the summer normally.  During the wet season is when the farmers can burn debris, when clearing the fields.

Dig,

There are places on the Internet where you can download sound tracks for free.

One such place is https://www.chosic.com/free-music/all/

I think (but don't know for sure) that you want to make sure your audio files are compatible with the media player you are using. I know that MP3 files work with MP4 videos.

You can turn out something like this:

With this particular sound track site, you are supposed to include attirbutes, so here it is.
