From the looks of it, it seems like you can change the ISO display from Auto Iso setting to just ISO? Just going off this screenshot where it is clearly displaying ISO and not autoISO:

No its misleading - it shows auto ISO if auto ISO is in operation or just ISO if it has been chosen manually

I think that screenshot is demonstrating how you can change what that that line of text displays; currently it is set to display ISO (Auto or Otherwise). If you were to press the right arrow I assume you would see a list of things it can be changed to; kind of like setting the Fn buttons in the Menu.

After getting mine, I agree about the joystick. That’s awkward, because it is so high up on the body now.

This will depend on the size of the photographers hand. It's fine for me

I also somewhat agree with the EV Comp dial, that is my most used dial and now it has been replaced by the in body wheel. That’s pretty disappointing.

Do you have trouble finding the rear command dial? This setup is much better than the Nikon PASM setup where you must hold a button and spin the rear command dial.

Oh but I would like to add one more annoyance… The way the Auto ISO displays on the top LCD is confusing because it shows Auto then the highest ISO allowed. I spent like 20 minutes trying to figure out why I was at ISO 800 in broad daylight (I wasn’t).

Same as the H1 so I'm not surprised. But in reality one has to take an exposure reading before the ISO can be calculated. Same for shutter speed in aperture priority. So Fuji made the decision to default to the max ISO when it does not have an estimate on the exposure. The only other options is for the camera to continuously meter. But that is probably more confusing as the lens might be pointed at a random location.

Another option would be to simply show four dashes to indicate it was not available.

It is confusing when you first see it but after a little thought - one realizes it is the old chicken and egg. In auto ISO you need an exposure reading to calculate the ISO so what to display? Before my wife afsconded with my H1, I developed the habit if I were interested in what the ISO would be was to simply point the lens to where I wanted an exposure estimate and then half press the shutter button with the camera at my waste and see what it said on the top display.

So, this is what you see with Auto ISO, it never changes and it is somewhat confusing.

Notice how it says ISOA1800? that 800 is the max ISO but it wasn't at 800 and that display will never change.

That's because it doesn't meter the scene until you half press the shutter release; so if you want to know what the ISIO would be, half press the shutter release. Similarly it wont tell you your shutter speed or aperture if either of those are set to auto. The display, and LCD/EVF, should change when you half press the shutter release.

Exactly the same way the XH1 works.  The camera doesn't know the ISO or shutter speed (in aperture priority) until the meter is activated by a half press.  This is the classic "Catch 22."  There is no real way to solve it - other than measure the exposure.  That is the ISO in auto ISO is indeterminate until the exposure is measured.

Exactly - a much better explanation

Fuji's auto ISO implementation is ridiculous and it has not changed. I tried it an gave up long ago. It needs priorities and limits and only one!

If I ever would need to use auto ISO, I would fix aperture and ss as required by the scene. This set-up is referred to "mISOmatic". No one using this setting? My experience with it 9is so limited that I would not venture an opinion on its useability.

Heck, that's how the X-Pro1 works.

There is a solution to this. Handle it like you handle Exposure Lock where it constantly meters while holding down or pressing a button.

Oh ok, that actually makes perfect sense. Unfortunately, I don't have mine yet even though I pre-ordered on day one, so I'm just going off of what I see online for the moment. Hopefully soon!
