Help ? S5 - 4k 60 ultra wide ?

Hi! I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to. Partly because my lack of experience in the professional camera realm and partly because of the lack of information out there. I want to buy a Lumix S5 and I also need a lens for it. I want to film super wide angle at 4k60 ( so the image will be cropped ) and I am looking for a lens that will give me roughly the same image as an iPhone 11/12/13 on the ultra wide camera in video mode ( iPhone crops in ultra wide video mode ) and from what I understand the focal length of the ultra wide on the iPhone is 13mm ( in photo mode ). What lens should I buy for the S5 ( preferably prime ) for this effect aka iPhone ultra wide video mode ( 13mm cropped ). Thanks 😐

Panasonic Lumix DC-S5

Re: Help ? S5 - 4k 60 ultra wide ?

Hi,
I don't have an iPhone but an S20+ that's meant to have an equivalent of 13mm as well. I have the Sigma 14-24mm and that's probably the closest lens to that and, their 14mm prime lens aside, that will roughly give you that kind of look with auto focus. However, auto-focus in video, especially with Sigma, is something many people complain about.
With manual focus, there are a few more options e.g. from 7artisan or TTartisan and others. Panasonic has a 20-60mm and a 16-35mm that might work but I don't think they give you that almost fish-eye look (not my 20-60mm at least).

Hope this helps somewhat.
Best wishes,
Peter

The Laowa 9mm f/2.8 will give you similar view when in APS-C mode, as 4k60 requires. It's a manual focus lens, but manual focus is easy with extreme wide angles.

The widest autofocus lens I can think of is the Canon 11-18mm on an adapter.

Thank you for the great suggestion !

It won't be the equivalent of 13mm full frame, but I use the Canon 10-18mm stm at 4K 60fps all the time for my videos. It is equivalent to 15mm.
