Great.

A wider angle than the 30mm of course, seems almost as sharp from what I can tell. I have no complaints. Definitely worth having in a kit. I like it better than the 16mm as it doesn't make any noise or sound like it's wearing down the camera (like it's constantly focusing).

One of my favourite nx lenses...

Weird about the noise though as my 16,20 and 30 all make a slightly odd noise as they constantly hunt for focus. I believe the mechanism used is the same with all 3 of those lenses, probably some others too.

My favorite NX lens. I like it better than both the 16mn and 30mm. Not sure what it is, but it has a touch of magic. The 30mm is more clinical. To me all the pancakes are outstanding though. Still my most used NX lens.

What about the 45mm lens?

I like the 45mm a lot, but it's not a focal length I use very often. It has it's own character.

Interestingly different cameras go better with different lenses (for my liking).

All in jpeg with different Picture Wizard settings for each camera. E. g. the NX3000 series is way too contrasty for me at default. I know in RAW all this could be a different story, but I'm just mostly a jpeg shooter, though I always shoot RAW plus jpeg just in case.

NX500 with 20mm = my absolute favorite combo. Something very unique about the rendering. And my Ricoh viewfinder perfectly matches this focal length.

NX3000/3300, Galaxy NX with 20mm: Nice but not the same. Something gets lost.

Galaxy NX with 16-50mm PZ= very good rendering for me. This lens works better on my 20MP bodies. Also good on the NX3000/3300 but the Galaxy NX gives more clarity.

NX 3000 /3300 with 30mm: That lens makes those two bodies sing. I prefer it on those two cameras over the NX500 and Galaxy NX. I find it also fantastic on the latter two, but a touch too clinical.

Galaxy NX with 18-200mm: Beautiful combo. It works better here than on the NX500 IQ- wise. I think the 28MP of the NX500 outresolve this lens.

All APS-C Samsung bodies I own do well with the 16mm, though it misses the 'magic' of the 20mm for me.

Galaxy NX with 12-24mm = Beautiful. I prefer the output over having this lens on my NX500. Did not get as wowed with the NX3000/3300.

Samsung NX Mini with adapter: 16-50mm is beautiful up to 40mm then things don't get as sharp, but super nice rendering. The 16mm does not work well on the Mini for some reason. I haven't used the longer FL lenses since there is no OIS. Except for the 18-200 which makes the lens a 48-540mm FL. I find this combo outstanding. Very sharp through most of the range and sufficiently sharp even at 540mm. I just need to find a better half case so I can use it with a shoulder strap.

The 45mm is a great lens, I just don't use it enough. It's more a collector's item at this point, but I'll spend more time with it in the future.

In closing I want to give praise to the Galaxy NX and NX Mini. The Galaxy NX is my favorite NX camera. There is something very unique about it's output. I used to own the NX300 and NX2000 as well, and their 20MP output is similar to another, but different from the NX Galaxy. The Galaxy NX has it's own rendering character. There is also no camera that fits better into my hand than this one. Not even my Panasonic G9. I find the Galaxy NX grip amazing.

Also, the NX Mini with the 17mm lens is just outstanding. It can give it's bigger brothers a run for the money.

Re: Great.

I'm looking for a good deal on a 45mm myself.

Wow you have quite the collection! I'd love to try the nx mini and 17mm combination but it seems as rare as hen's teeth (and expensive)

Re: Great.

Just looked on eBay.

Galaxy NX and NX30 are pricey.

I have retired NX100 and NX10.  That sensor was just not good in my experience.

But my NX1000 and NX300 are two of the best, if not the best, quality to cost cameras I own.

Re: Great.

There is one galaxy that has the 16-50 s series paired with it.
