Summer Fun
2

Summer has finally arrived in our area with temperatures in the 90's F. When it gets too hot, it's time to go to the beach or find a cool lake. That's where I was on Saturday.

Photo No. 1 - It was a beautiful day with lots of blue sky and water.

Photo No. 2 - Here at this location I could find a few water skiers.

Photo No. 3 - At another location, I saw all these people lying on their boards getting some sun.

Photo No. 4 - The brown color of this lake is the shallow portion.

Photo No. 5 - There were many people enjoying their time on watercrafts.

Photo No. 6 - Here's some more....

Photo No. 7 - With the reach of a telephoto lens, I could get closer.

Photo No. 8 - And one more....

Photo No. 9 - I think this was a pink flamingo.

Photo No. 10 - And a closeup...it appears a park ranger or policeman approached them for something.  There didn't seem to be a big issue as he did not stay long.

Jack & Jill windmills

Here is Sussex there are a couple of windmills, called Jack and Jill.

We went to see one on Sunday, although I'm not sure if it was jack or Jill!

There was also a lovely view looking the other way:

Re: Jack & Jill windmills

That windmill is nicely restored and maintained.  I like seeing the blue sky with the wispy clouds.  The views of the surrounding area are wonderful.

A message to all.

Hi all,

Just to let you know. I'm currently touring (Rubbish data connectivity at the moment) and the first response to Digirame ended up with two answers. Although the server said the first message was unreadable yet ultimately it put it up ending up with two of the same. I'll try to put up my pictures and respond to people if I can. I'm not being ignorant if there are no replies from me.

Re: A message to all.

Mocha,

As long as no-one replies to the post, you can edit it.  Or you may be able to remove it.  I usually edit mine that are like that, by removing all the contents and saying something like "duplicate post" or do something creative like write another different response.  So I will not reply to it for a while so you can do that.  I hope you can remove the duplication.

Re: A look back.

Outstanding!  I love the view of the lake, seeing the trees, yellow flowers and reeds along the edge of the lake.  The weather is looking good; it's nice we are warmer now in the summer.  I feel that warmth when viewing your images.  The bird and purple flowers are excellent.  You were able to isolate both subjects with great backgrounds.  Oh, I can't forget...the squirrel...wow...love that one too.  You did well with that, showing it with all of those green leaves.

Re: A look back.

Hi Digirame, Thank You.

The area we stayed in was ideal for walking and close to the forest where I found the squirrel, he was enjoying his acrobatics keeping me entertained for quite a while.

We've gone into a rainy period this week, although the temps. are still good. The area we are in now has a stream and a small pool, it is also close to a forest with a heronry. I've already spied them by the pool in the evening so watch this space.

Summer Fun - Thanks

Thanks.  I was glad that I got out to see all of the activity at the lake under bright sunshine, for now we have cloudy cool weather.  But it's still supposed to be dry for a while.

This week I am in a mood for birdwatching, unfortunately with my gear and skill I am able to catch only blackbirds - but I am still happy with the results

That's great. Yes, with dark colored birds we have to get the right lighting for the best ones.  Like in the last image, you seemed to have got that one right.  When the bird steps into the light, any darker background is nice to have to further isolate the subject.
