preferred AF point in Live View?

Do you have a preferred AF method when using Live View?

With still photos, I prefer using a single point autofocus. Putting tracking aside, In Live View, my camera:offers "spot", "single point" (which is a slightly larger area than "spot", and "frame" (which is an area covering about 3/4th of the frame).

I find myself using the "single point" method of focusing in Live View. The area is easier to see and move around when using the touch screen.

According to the manual, the camera finds it easier to acquire focus than the "spot" method, but the down side is that the camera might acquire focus on subjects that are nearer to you than the object you actually want to focus on.

I just wonder how others feel.

I have to check on whether video (which uses Live View) gives you any options at all.

Re: preferred AF point in Live View?

Given that I'm usually shooting landscapes or other (mostly) still scenes, single-point (or manual) focus is my default. It allows me to be exact about what's in focus. It also removes any excuses when it invariably isn't...
