Crandell's First - Twins

We are almost overrun with white-tailed deer on Vancouver Island.  It helps that our cougars/mountain lions are active hunters and help to keep their numbers down.  The adults can leap a 2.3M fence with relative ease if they know/can see what is on the other side.  Two meter fences that are boarded, affording no practical view of what lies beyond them, keep them out of gardens...like mine.

Crandell's Third - Smoke!

Of course, this was taken at 9KM ASL, However, these are local mountains, the Coast Range, in British Columbia.  The smoke is almost an annual occurrence, regrettably, and I suppose we'll have to point at global warming.  What you see here is evidence of vast forest fires covering thousands of hectares.

Than-you, Gary.  It helps that they're in my front lawn about six times each day.  I just have to be looking up.

I really do.  The light and shades here are astounding, even breathtaking sometimes.  In a coastal climate, we enjoy greenery year-round, but the light up this far north, especially with all the cloud, can be a bit daunting for some.  I find it so compelling that I have to take photos to capture the effect.

This is an untouched photo light and colour-wise.  Just axial tilt adjusted to horizontal.

Yes, thanks, it's truly spectacular here some days.  Others, just high winds, rain, and cloud.  It makes up with us later, though, and without fail.
