Great long zoom :)

I have had this lens from day 1 and really like it. Its the only zoom lens made by Canon at this time that is 100% compatible with the RF extenders both the 1.4x and 2.0x. This is so very lite at 635 g. Its a very good GP long zoom.  It also has the very fast and accurate NANO focus system

Agreed - and for most purposes, image quality is quite good. Also, generally, I found the build quality much more acceptable than expected.

Still, it's my only lens without weather sealing, that is somewhat of a pity for that type of lens, but understandable.

For completeness' sake: It will never stop being annoying that I bought a 700€ lens and had to get the lens hood separately though. Time for canon to outgrow this childishness.

But back to topic - the 100-400 does for RF what the 55-250 II did for APS-C back then  -deliver lots of zoom goodness in a palatable consumer-grade package.
