Mini-Challenge #588 - Fields ***RESULT***

Thanks for participating the challenge. It is great to see different interpretations of field photo.

HM: YWG An “ice field”, what a nice interpretation of the theme!

3rd : Bmike #3 A frosted field in the Vermont

Really enjoy how the capture of grainy snowflakes and frosted field lends a nostalgic film photography style to the photo.

2nd: FerruginousHawk 1: Foggy Field

Nice monochrome photo of a foggy field that gives a strong melancholic/spooky vibe yet strangely calming.

Winner: YWG entry 1 - lots of lupines

Where is this place? Love the endless blanket of lupines, super intense and colour is vibrant. The light and shadow casted on the lupines field makes the photo interesting. With snow mountains in the background, it is as if the overwhelming number of lupines were trying to take over and remind us that spring is here!

Hand over to you YWG

P.S. Even the mini-challenges are supposed to be fun and not to be taken seriously, at least they should motivate us to take the camera out there more often. What´s the point to “recycle” and share the same old photos used elsewhere in this forum? With the more approachable theme, I was really hoping it would motivate us to take the camera out there and take some fresh photos in their "habitats". Maybe the topic was not compelling enough or the deadline is too tight. Sorry for the venting, I do appreciate everyone sharing his/her nice photos so that the mini-challenge won´t “die”.

Thanks for hosting, congrats to all the entrants and recognitions. I'll post a challenge tonight.

The field of lupines is on the south ring road of Iceland, a few kms east of Skaftafell Visitor Center. My wife asked me where I would like to go for a milestone birthday and I said Iceland so away we went. We had a young child at the time so it was very much a trip of snapshots but lots of good memories. It's an incredibly scenic land and constantly changing with the light, weather and within short distances driving. Aside, I've read the lupines were introduced deliberately and have become invasive.

As for the PS, I get it. I get where other people come from with wanting just powershots. I think we have to look at the forum activity within the last couple of years. It is sparse. The challenge participation is sparse so, being open keeps these viable. Good discussion element. There is another thread or two on this so can always continue there.
