X-T4 for video
7

I’ve been using the X-T4 for client work for a while now but have finally had the time to put together a couple of edits from my personal X-T4 footage. Still impressed by this cameras output and usability for video.

Filmed in F-Log and graded using the Eterna LUT. All shots are 4K 60fps, LongGOP 200mb/s. All shots are with XF 16mm f/2.8 and using a gimbal. Edited in final cut pro X.

The F-Log view assist of the X-T4 was useful for judging exposure and viewing the clips in playback.

Filmed in Eterna. 4K (24 & 60fps). All shots are with the Mitakon 35mm f/0.95 and used a tripod. Edited in Davinci Resolve 17. Clips were captured over the course of a couple of hours in the beautiful city of Valletta, Malta.

Very nice ! Did you use autofocus with the 16 mm or manual focus only ?

Thanks. Manual focus throughout.

Only watched the first one but it looked good. Really nailed color and exposure. Any stab in post? Did you keep IBIS on or turn it off while on the gimbal? About half way through the video there's a shot that tilts up to the ceiling that has some juttering. Not sure if that's a function of the IBIS being on. Usually a good idea with tilts or parallax shots to go above 180 degree shutter when shooting with a higher frame rate that you're then slowing in post. It makes that movement appear a little bit smoother. Overall it looked good though. What are you using for a gimbal?

Thanks. Only minor contrast adjustments were made in post (after applying the Eterna LUT). I turned IBIS off throughout as I've seen noticeable corner wobble with the XF 16mm before. I'm using the first generation Zhiyun Crane. Thanks for the tip regarding shutter angle on tilts.

it did require quite a bit of post stabilisation. Ripped up floors and less than perfect gimbal technique lead to shakier footage than I’d like

Wow, gorgeous.

My first question - did you drag the cow into the building or was it a natural find!?

That's amazing. It must of been exciting! Were you completely handheld, or using a monopod/tripod?

Was entirely filmed using a Gimbal. Yeah the cows really added some life to the footage as I didn't want to feature people in the shots.
