The SUNWAYFOTO L-Bracket for Canon Eos R7 Arca Swiss Quick Release L Plate is available at Amazon for $49.95

I'm using it for some time. Well made, as usually, but slightly screwed-up. The cutout in the vertical part of the bracket is slightly too narrow – it's wide enough to tilt the screen in all sorts of odd angles, but not enough to simply flip it to the left untilted.

And judging by the pictures the RRS one has the same problem.

I have a similar bracket from SmallRig on my R5. Almost all L-brackets have the same problem. If the cutout were any larger it would not be possible to attach it securely to the tripod when using the camera in portrait orientation.

The only bracket I know of with a design that allows full articulation of the screen is the one from ProMediaGear. I did buy one but I prefer to use the one from SmallRig because while the one from ProMediaGear works very well it is big, and relatively heavy.  It was also much more expensive.  I don't know if it's available for the R7; it might be.

Since my R7 finally arrived I am also in search of an L-bracked (hopefully with arca swiss base and removable vertical part as I have it for my R5)

you may also check RRS, they make very high quality stuff. i have their L brackets for all of my dslrs. hope they make them for R cameras as well.

RRS gear is excellent but very expensive. Anyone willing to spend that amount of money for an L-bracket might also keep on eye on PromediaGear. It's the only L-bracket I could find for my R5 that has offset of the vertical part of the bracket to allow full articulation of the rear panel. The vertical part is also removable. They may release something similar for the R7.

I'll second the recommendation for ProMediaGear. I have their PLX3T L bracket and find it fantastic. It will give battery door access and the vertical mount is offset so you get access to all ports and can fully swing the screen out.

I don't use L brackets enough to warrant having specific ones dedicated to a single camera. This ProMediaGear one is pretty universal and top quality. For under $130 it's impressive.

The thing is the SmallRig L-bracket for R5 does have the cutout large enough not to block flipping the screen to the left. No issues with attaching typical clamps either.

But you can't rotate the panel when it is flipped out and there is a danger if you try of scratching the panel.  It's the same problem with all the brackets that have this particular design.  Nevertheless, I prefer it to the ProMeidaGear bracket because it's not as bulky.  It's great value for the cost.

Has anyone used this Sunwayfoto bracket https://sunwayfoto-store.com/en-gb/products/ls-75-ls-63-ring-lens-support-with-arca-swiss-plate-collar-mount-dslr-horizontal-vertical-shooting-switching-designed-for-sony-canon-nikon

It looks like it may have resolved the tilting screen issue but might create access issues to the af/mf switch on lenses

This is a great concept; I remember seeing a kickstarter campaign a few months ago for a similar design and at this price I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Unfortunately it seems that they don't have any models compatible with any of Canon's R series cameras. Hopefully they'll develop them if the ones they make now sell well.

Only Canon dSLRs are listed as compatible, not R series mirrorless bodies/lenses.

Note that such design will make control ring EF-RF adapter useless if you use one. Same for the one with filter slot.

I found this video - unfortunately in Italian which appears to show it being used on an R series https://youtu.be/QrgRjuIf0Ww

Are you referring to this product https://silencecorner.net/collections/atoll-series

I've only come across videos where it looks like they've been sent to "influencers" rather than any independent type reviews. The web site does show more details and highlights the issues of using the device as highlighted earlier in this thread

If you see what looks like an extreme price don't worry it will be Taiwan Dollars !! Actual price is about 99 USD plus shipping

I have one. It's fine with the 600 and *perfect* when I'm using the RF 100-500 as it also provides a carrying handle on the left. But as the lenses get smaller I agree it becomes a little unwieldy.

I don't know if it's available for the R7; it might be.

A big problem with the R7 is that the body is very small on the left, so if the upright part of an L-bracket is shifted forwards it tends to block the lens release button and potentially any drop-in filters if using the adapter. The Smallrig cage, which is otherwise excellent, suffers from this problem.

Yes I think that's the one; thank you.  I'll look more closely at it later today.   I see they have Canon mirrorless cameras listed, but it's not so simple in my case as I'm using the R5 but with an adapter for my EF lenses.  I'll browse the site carefully later today to see if something they have might work.  Thank you again for the link.

Re: L-Bracket for the EOS R7

Hopefully there may potentially be another alternative, which appears less clunky - a Smallrig half cage. It only appears to be available for Sony in this form currently but for my needs seems ideal. Fingers crossed an R7 version will be released

Re: L-Bracket for the EOS R7

There is a half cage to fit the R7 and gives full screen access. CAMVATE Half Camera Cage for Canon EOS R7 - 3231 https://amzn.eu/d/femognm

I believe cheaper in the USA

And potentially the Nisi L bracket it doesn't offer full screen movement but it seems you can move the upright arm forward slightly https://youtu.be/7W4YM7Omycw
