Fuji Xf35mm f2 R wr vs Fuji Xc35mm f2

I am getting the Xe4 without kit lens(xf27mm) since it isnt available in my place. Now I am stuck with what lens I should get with it for landscape and street photography. I am not sure about the differene between Xf35mm r wr and Xc35mm.

Would like some suggestions on which to buy with the camera. This is my first camera so I dont have any other lens and so I am looking for a lens that would do just fine on everyday basis.

I’ve had both but only have the xc currently. Optically, the lenses are supposed to be the same so the image quality is exactly the same

The xf Lens is weather sealed, made of metal and has an aperture ring

The xc lens is plastic. Not weather sealed and doesn’t have an aperture ring.

As they are the same optically you need to decide what’s more important to you. Arguably the xf makes more sense for future proofing if you ever get a weather sealed body and I am a big fan of aperture rings on lenses.

But I personally love how light a setup my x-e4 and xc 35 is. Since you don’t lose out in image quality you can use the savings towards other gear or towards getting out somewhere to take photos

If you don't want a zoom, the XC 35 is a great match for your X-E4!

Use it, love it, learn with it, and if you later want to swap it for a different lens, you won't lose much money if you choose to sell it.

(That said, I would generally advice any beginner to start out with a zoom lens; maybe a used 18-55 or 16-50, in addition to the prime, just to get some variety and try out different focal lengths. )
