Today's Hike Goodies : SX10
4

I took at short 5.7 mile hike today, climbing up to 5,278 feet. It was mostly cloudy but the sun shown through the forest canopy a few times. With our warmer weather and rainfall I was hoping to get some mushroom and wildflower photos. This camera has become my current hike camera mainly because of the flip screen, Super Macro and flash power control.

This might be Wild Geranium

I don't know what this one is

Crown-Tipped Coral Mushroom

Orange Mycena

Garter Snake in the middle of the trail getting some sun. I almost stepped on it! I shot several frames and kept getting closer until it started sticking its tongue out.  I knew it "sensed" me and then it slowly crawled to the right into some grass. I used Macro with reduced power flash.

Really nice pictures.  What year is the SX10?  Well done.

Thanks. It came out in 2008. In 2009 DPR did a "Super Zoom" Camera Group 5 test and the SX10 tied with Panasonic's FZ28 for the winner.

The SX10 improved over the already great S5 by moving the SD card slot to the right side, adding a wide angle lens and adding a better EVF.
