Thoughts about the SD15 from Boon Vong

I am posting this as a favor to  him.  It is an interesting compendium  (pardon me Ted if I chose the wrong word):

"I gathered up some photos and my thoughts on the SD15 after using it here and there for a year. You can read it on my blog"

He has some good shots, well worth a look.

The set of photos of a fan with wildly different colours is strange. Maybe he was using auto white balance ?

Very interesting article. I would welcome the opportunity to see / open photos in their original size and especially photos created with ISO 50. Nice portrait photos. Nice colors. Great camera!

Thanks, Rick, for a good article!

... works for me, Rick.

He talks a lot about blowing highlights, "crazy" WB and other negative stuff, perhaps unfairly.

Based on a sample of one, he seems none too gentle with adjustments ...

Using Multi-segment metering may not have been optimum for this shot either.

Add to that the use of ViewNX 2.10 W as the final editor which may have messed up the number format in the above Maker Notes.

I'm wondering if some of his SD15 cons originated from 12" behind the viewfinder .

Pardon the negativity - I did enjoy the pics and admired his use of "low-end" lenses, in particular the 50mm f/2.8 macro EX DG with broken AF because I've just bought one with the same problem.

Thank you for posting this Rick. I'm interested to know what his experience would be like if he had an SD Quattro for a year. I like many of his photos.
