EOS M3 wifi connected to Andriod phone but Remote live view shooting not working.

Hi all,

I recently got EOS M3 via 2nd hand purchased. The camera was excellent, I love the touch screen. I tried using smartphone to remote control it, I use Canon Connect app from Google app store. it was able to connected. Please see below 1st capture.

The images on camera function works. But when I try Remote Live view shooting, it give ERROR. See 2nd screen capture. Any idea what went wrong with camera setting?

I then tried another app, name "Camera Connect & Control" by RupiApps, remote live view and controls works fine. But this apps need to pay after 3 days trial.

Connected on Andriod smartphone

ERROR

I tried same steps able to connect my Canon RP camera, live view works perfectly.

thanks

I have the Eos-m3 but I hadn't this problem. Sometimes it takes a few tries but I don't remember this message or the "half" functionality. I don't have the camera in front of me but have you tried to make a new connection with your smartphone? (again from the beginning I mean). By the way I always used the canons "camera connect" app. I am quite sure that there is not a serious problem and with a few tries you will succeed. I don't remember if there is something in the cameras menu that is connected with the WiFi connection but I am not sure.

I have an M6 II - which works very well over Wi-Fi – not an M3. The error message seems to suggest a problem with the settings on the camera. I recommend you clear the settings on the camera using the “Clear Wireless Settings” menu option on the Wi-Fi menu (if you have one – this is what’s on the M6 II), then set up the WiFi connection again.

I did "reset wireless", also clear all camera setting, uninstall app from smartphone, re-install again, after all these sequence, it works now.

Great, where is "time interval" setting in Canon connect app ? I want to take time lapse images.

thanks

I don't think there is intervall setting possibility on the canon app.

Instead , I have to buy another app, name "Camera Connect & Control" by RupiApps. That provide time interval function. I use trial version it works.

thanks
