Canon FD Reflex 500mm how to remove the mount flange?

I have a nice example of the first version, SSC with the silver breech lock FD flange.

The plan is to replace the mount and convert to either M42 or Pentax K.

(Yes, I know about the register differences. I have successfully converted another old FD lens - the SSC 400/4.5 to PK with infinity focus. There was more than enough room simply by replacing the bulky FD flange with a flat brass PK mount. The aperture linkage was the only complication.)

In the case of this mirror lens, it should be even simpler. There are no linkages of any sort and I'm pretty sure will also allow infinity focus.

BUT ..

In trying to remove the flange, I'm not seeing the 3x screws inside the mount that were on the 400 and I think typical of breech FD. There are no visible mounting screws at all.

Anybody have any pointers as to how to proceed?

You should be able to buy an adapter to convert to M42. I had one around 1980. No conversion needed. I don't know about the K mount.

Oh, wait, sorry, that was an M42 lens used on Canon FD.

But if you want to use the lens with a modern Canon, an inexpensive FD to M converter is available, and surely there is also an FD to R converter.

I butchered mine to fasten an EOS mount. Absolutely doable and achieving infinity focus, but the little conical shading piece essential for keeping the bouncing lightcones apart disappeared , so the results were unsatisfactory.
