Canon FD Reflex 500mm how to remove the mount flange?

I have a nice example of the first version, SSC with the silver breech lock FD flange.

The plan is to replace the mount and convert to either M42 or Pentax K.

(Yes, I know about the register differences. I have successfully converted another old FD lens - the SSC 400/4.5 to  PK with infinity focus. There was more than enough room simply by replacing the bulky FD flange with a flat brass PK mount. The aperture linkage was the only complication.)

In the case of this mirror lens, it should be even simpler. There are no linkages of any sort and I'm pretty sure will also allow infinity focus.

BUT ..

In trying to remove the flange, I'm not seeing the 3x screws inside the mount that were on the 400 and I think typical of breech FD. There are no visible mounting screws at all.

Anybody have any pointers as to how to proceed?

I did that a long time ago;, cannot recall where the fastening elements were  that I removed in order to shorten the whole thing, probably hidden by the bayonet with what the Germans call a "madenschraube" on its side.

What i vividly remember that I did wrong was to discard the little black conical shield fastened to the bayonet assembly. It was acting as a baffle to guard against stray light from the light twice crossing its interior. This catadioptic is known to produce a brighter picture center (sort of reverse vignetting), but without this bafflle it was even worse

My nFD Reflex is EF mount, so I can't help you by looking at mine.

Firmware request:
-A button map for toggling the EVF & LCD
-Still waiting for the minimum shutter speed with auto ISO for my NEX-7 and A7r. I know it will never happen.
-Customize the display screen layout, I'd love to have both Histogram and level at the same time.
-More peaking options, being able to set peaking sensitivity and a threshold level.
-An RGB overlay on the histogram https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/602/20236258313_c604dd9522_n.jpg
-An option to return the focus assist zoom to one button press
-An option to return to how the NEX-7 handled playback, ie. center button to zoom, then you could use the control dial to zoom in and out, then center button to exit the zoom mode.

Thanks, yeah I will def use the baffle in the end! So far I've managed to unscrew the silver FD flange retaining ring. So now I can see there is a very thin plate cover over the 3x mounting screws. It appears that the baffle (conical tube) is riveted on top of this plate.

Maybe be removing the baffle, the cover can then be removed .. ?
