I am shaking my head in sort of disbelief that it has been 20 years since I bought my Minolta D7i in May 2002. It was not my first digital (I had a 1.3mp Olympus and a 2.1mp Olympus before), but it was the one that got me to put aside my film cameras.

A few old photos.

Wonderful photos, Henry! I particularly like the Route 66 photo with the nice warm tones and old worn structures. I'm sure you have lots of great photos through the years with your D7i. Twenty years is a long time in the digital industry, but I'm always impressed and inspired by the older cameras.

That model was my first discovery just a few years ago into the 3/4 sensor cameras from back in the day. I now have 2 that are working. My first one was plagued with the overheating problem (even after updating the firmware) and my 3rd one was stolen (porch pirates) before I ever got it! The first test shots got me hooked on the nice Minolta JPG engine.

You are not the only one to have realized that time passes too quickly.

Thank you.  Yes, I have some more photos I took with it, but then I sold it in 2004.

It is sort of fun playing with some of the older digital cameras.  Packed away back in the States I still have my first 2:

Thanks. Yes, the time flies!

Very hard to believe, but it was 50 years ago in 1972 that American Pie by Don McLean was the big #1 hit song. I was in high school at the time. Where does the time go? Where are the Snowdens of yesteryear?

Oh boy, this is good! It popped up on my youtube recommended list. I have never seen or heard him like this. A Star Wars parody to the tune of American Pie. Watch it and it will make you smile.

These photos are truly beautiful. The camera undoubtedly had its limitations, the photographer is a true craftsman. Beautifully captured with this camera.
