Re: Sharp Aquos R7 is announced today

Have they indicated how they are getting 1.8 times more light than the R6? I think the sensor size and aperture are the same. I would assume the lens of the R6 transmits >90% of the light. So it's unlikely to be the lens transmission. That leaves sensor details... either a different CFA (e.g. RGBW) or more efficient pixels (e.g. two layer pixels) or something else. Does anyone have any insight?

I also assume they mean 1.8 times the light of the R6 and not 1.8 times MORE light (2.8 times). Anyone think otherwise?

I am guessing they are using a stacked sensor, and graphics seems to show 4 micro sensor in 1 previous sensor space, including on chip phase detection focus. Should be faster.

I believe the R6 was already stacked and BSI. Per Wikipedia, it uses the IMX506 (which I assume is very similar to the IMX383). Both are listed as being Exmor RS (BSI and stacked).
