aglake Exhibits

I have a busy week ahead of me so I can't post any entries.  However, I think that this topic deserves some more pictures, even if I can only post exhibits.

Groton MA Tanker 1

Groton MA Ladder 1

These pictures were take at the Groton Firemen's Muster, Labor Day weekend 2016.

One more exhibit

Cleaning up the field

We rent a cottage in early July from a dairy farmer on Prince Edward Island.  (And this year we are actually going to get there.)  Next to the cottage is a large field where he grows feed for his cows.  Two years ago I could have told you what he was growing, but we've not been able to go there for the last two summers and exactly what he was growing has escaped from my memory.

He'll fill that trailer and the other two that you can see in the picture - and another one too - before he finishes.

Re: One more exhibit

Thanks for your submissions.   This time of year, and especially this essentially post-pandemic year, I think people are chafing at the bit and making plans.  Also, gardens are becoming a priority in most people's lives if they have homes with gardens.  Many hobbyists active in winter months have put their hobbies aside, at least for the time being.  Lakes and rivers are warming, so people are drawn to them for board sports, as an example.  And on it goes....

Would the crop have been alfalfa?  It's common as feed for cows.

Re: One more exhibit

I don't think it was alfalfa, I seem to be a little surprised that it wasn't. Buckwheat seems appear in the back of my mind; maybe that was it. He grows it for silage to feed his cows through the winter. He has lots of pasture for grazing in the summer.

I disagree. Not that it matters much but lets be honest.   I have stated more than once in here that uninteresting topics kill mini-challenges. I don't know very many people "chafing at the bit" making plans to travel when gasoline (petrol) prices and lodging prices are at record high levels unless you are planning a trip to Saudi Arabia or Venezuela.  It doesn't take 72 hrs to post a pic in here either.

Great topic.

Wish I had more pictures of heavy equipment.

Best wishes.

Re: One more exhibit

I think that this mini-challenge was handicapped by a poor choice of initial topic.  I think that gloaming underestimated the reluctance of people to post pictures of family. (In my case, the only possible subject was my wife but I'm not posting pictures of her to a public forum.)

My own reaction was "Not this time; but maybe the next one".  So I ignored the mini-challenge It was only when I checked back in to see when the challenge would finish that I found about the change in topic. I almost missed it completely.
