Laowa 4mm Fisheye - M50 Mark II

I'm interested in the Laowa 4mm lens for use on my Canon M50 Mark II.
I have two questions about this setup:

  • Is any part of the camera visible in the photos produced?
  • Does it create a completely circular image, or is it cropped?

Any comments are welcome, I'm very interested in reading opinions and experiences with this setup or other lenses for the M50 that achieve a similar look.

Thanks in advance

M6 Mark ii.

(Not mine! - I just googled 'Loawa 4mm Canon M Flickr', and this shot came up, among quite a few others).

I have a (discontinued) Sigma 4.5mm DC in an EF mount. Focusing was a disapoinment with my 50D and 80D, but it's spot on with my M6 mkII.

It produces a circular image that's about 11mm diameter.

Check the listing on B&H:

As you can see in the listed product images, it produces a round image on Canon APS-C.

It also shows it mounted on an an M5 where the grip should be similar (if not a little longer) than the M50.

Look at the top-down image of the lens mounted on the M5. With a listed 210 degree fov, I believe it should just clear the grip. That said, you will probably have to be careful where you put your fingers lest they show up in the shot.

Hope that helps
