Moonrise April 16

It's been a while since I've taken the SD1M off the shelf. So long, in fact, that all my SD batteries were dead, and the cam had forgotten the date...

So with 1/2 hour 'til Moonrise, I charged up a battery and walked to the end of the block to wait for the Moon to show up.

See that fuzzy blob on the bottom picture? It's not a cloud...

It sure looks like a turkey buzzard to me. Although why it is out flying in the dark? And notice that AF focused on the powerlines.

This last is a composite. When I positioned myself to get sunset glow reflected in the windows,, the Moon was waaayy off to the right.

Fascinating moon shots, David.

Maybe the next Sigma Foveon camera will have adjustable AF points.

The last shot is a winner!

Thanks Vitée.

Actually, I think that atmospheric turbulence meant that the power lines were much sharper edges than the Moon's limb, so the AF chose the wires.

The last shot is a winner!

Thanks Ceistinne.

I did this same shot sometime last year, and the reflected sky in the windows was better then, I think.

But you work with what Nature gives you.
