My new Canon R5C has a stuck / hot pixel? Should I return it?

5 days in my canon r5c which is an amazing camera so far, a bit overkill but its kinda forces me to learn more.

6th day and i see theirs a stuck white pixel. its not the sensor as when i take a blank picture with lens cap it doesnt show in the image nor the viewfindder confirmining its ont he rear LCD.

It hasnt gone away . Rest of the camera has been flawless and i installed a partial skin (didnt finish) and screen shield to protect it.

but given the cost, is it worth returning it for a new unit?

You should not have to ask, it is a high value item and needs to be returned!

Given you have applied a skin you may not be able to return it for a new unit, it may have to go back to Canon under warrenty.

A manual cleaning cycle or two will usually map those out.   Give that a try first.

It's not the sensor it's the LCD that has the stuck pixel, not sure you can map those out.

If it is the LCD, that's not uncommon to have a bad pixel. Normally I'd say swap it, but these are out of stock everywhere.  It might take weeks to get a replacement, if not longer.
