GH6 Processing Latitude ISO 100
6

I have been shooting the camera for few weeks and taken many shots at ISO 100 in very difficult conditions

Here the original shot as processed from adobe the shot has some clipping of highlights as the camera ran out of dynamic range a little.

I have then applied

CineD curve and +43 shadows to life the shadows in addition some vibrancy adjustment

I have then added a graduated filter on the beach +0.33 exposure

A mask on the two girls with 0.33 exposure

dehazed the sky +20

reduced highlights -41 on the sea where it was clipped

And this is the outcome

From what I can see not only the file takes quite a bit of beating but in the very dark areas where shadows and exposure were lifted the camera retained the color of the algae on the beach

I have also checked the camera highlight protection at ISO 100 and I found it to be zero. I was expecting this to be a very low value like 0.33ev so I am a bit surprised at least I can trust the meter and have to be careful not doing artificial ETTR as it may clip in some cases

Was this merely for investigative reasons or is the second image representing how you would want to process it? It looks... not a keeper.

I like how the image comes out. This is obviously subjective so you would not keep it while I have

I like that you brought up the beach and people. It's a bit hazy, I'd try to add some contrast there. Maybe bring out the clouds a bit more too.

Sun off the water is supposed to be blindingly bright. I like it in the first shot more. In some scenarios, it's okay to let it clip hard, like with specular highlights. I also let white objects in the sun clip a little as it gives brightness to the scene.

Thank you am not looking for advise on how to process the image I like it exactly as it is

It was hazy so it should show I did remove the long distance haze on the mountains partially but on the beach there was spray so it has to stay and no contrast to be added either
