I bought an RP last month - it was tough to decide on a new camera since the SX50 is so versatile. We've had a really wet and cold month so my picture taking days have been few. I've sat outside and tried to take duplicate shots with both cameras.

I got this chickadee with the RP and was very pleased with it, forgetting for a few days I'd also brought the SX50 outside and got one of the same bird, unfortunately not quite the same focal length. Not bad for an old camera! (I'm still keeping the RP)

Both for comparison:

Nice ones, I really like the first one. Thanks for sharing.

I have few older DSLRs and I find it difficult to shoot with "P" to get a sharp pictures  since most of them require at least shutter speed at least 400 for a sharp image.

Few more from SX50 ( both these were taken through a glass window)

Thanks,

VadiV

Once in a while I use my old SX50 and the IQ from this camera is really nice. These are processed by DXO pure RAW and the IQ at ISO 800 for P & S is very good. Please share if you have nice ones.

Thank,

VadiV

DXO Deepprime is a game change. It can make big difference even in low ISO for SX50. Great detail and smooth pixels in your photos. I am thinking to get a used SX50. I have a Fuji S-1. DXO Photolab 5 does not support that camera.

Re: Female Common Kestrel.

Looks like a male eastern bluebird to me. That's what they are in Missouri. Our state bird.

Is the Canon Camera/lens brighter? I shot Fuji S-1 more exposed, ending up with the image below.

It's always a solid camera to take along as it small, very good reach, and excellent IQ (if I do my part). These were shot off my paddle board on one of our lakes in the Sierras so focus may be a bit off.
