I used an app that was like that before, for iPod. Unfortunately, it didn't work properly, no matter what the settings were. From memory, I could remember it was probably a long exposure app (indeed, it was intended for light painting). It seemed as though for every next consecutive frame, the photo got worse in some way, and darker. It was a free app.

However, there was also another app that I used, which was for the simulation of long exposure; it could be made from individual video frames. It might have been known as Joby. Interestingly, I used the app to record a pre-recorded time lapse (by recording a display). I set it to various times, from a few seconds all of the way to at least 16, and because the pre-recorded time lapse was a quicker version of what was happening, it was possible to see the long exposure being created, faster than normal, but in real time! Might be interesting for me to retry it, but with slow motion!
