Lenticular Film

I have just started experimenting with 3D and I wonder whether anyone knows where I can obtain lenticular film at a sensible price (in the UK).

I know about DPLenticular in Ireland, but buying from them costs more in postage than the film is worth, plus they have a minimum order of 150 Euros. I only need a few sheets for experiments. I can buy from China but that takes more than a month to arrive and I'm not convinced about the quality.

For the sake of it, here are a couple of my first images. I have uploaded them as cross-eye as I understand that is the standard here, although I find that it doesn't work for me.

Gary.

Frankly you'd better concern yourself with the type of lenticular film that suits your needs, and not with the price.

Different makers produce different stuff, and there's no much choice.

How you are going to print: inkjet, offset, darkroom? Which size?

I used to buy 60LPI "frames" from vuethru.com despite the abnormal delivery cost from US to Israel. You should be in much better position with Ireland to UK.

Thanks,

The lenticular materials produced in China are of very high quality. I have made several products there, with sizes between 5,5cm/8,5cm and 50cm/75cm, in quantities of tens of thousands of pieces (total number).

But, you need to know exactly what kind of products you need and for what purpose (to be able to request the desired lenticular plate model), first of all if you want them to be viewed from a large or small angle, from a large or small distance.

I recommend you to start playing with low LPI lenticular plates, 25 LPI to maximum 40 LPI, so you can easy center them manually. High quality results can only be obtained using special (industrial) equipment.
To get a reasonable 3D effect you need at least 4-5 images/frame, preferably 11 images/frame.

I can't really help you with sourcing lenticular film where you're from, but I did want to say those are wonderful 3D photos
