Hello - these are excellent photographs - I am hoping to get a R camera - I am waiting til maybe on Mother' day to buy mine.

But I still guess the images would have been far better if you had a more expensive camera and a much more expensive lens!

... the ugly bokeh of this lens. I´d rather use the old EF F1.4.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how silly it may be. I owned the EF 1.4 for several years. The RF 50 F1.8 is so much better.

Some do, and others are deeply disappointed.

I'm fine with it, because I would have bought this one, and not the in between one anyway. I hope, for the sake of those whose lives are blighted by the lack of the in-between option, that Canon comes out with what you want at some point.

Already a very decent option in the Sigma EF 50 f1.4 which is actually just as good and much cheaper than canons RF 50mm f1.2 anyway
