Open Camera App (on Nokia G50)

Hi All.

I've been using tho Open Camera app instead of the native camera on the Nokia G50. The main reason is that I can see the image thumbnails when connected to the computer. The native app shows only icons. -- But, that's just the "why". The "HOW?" is as follows:

How can I access the 48MPx resolution mode on the Nokia G50 when using the Open Camera app? Ie, has anybody managed it. The highest res I can get is the 12MPx.

Additionally, I can't seem to select to save as DNG in that app either.

If someone knows for sure that you cannot, then that's OK.

TIA.

No personal experience but no other answers.  Web search turned up this SourceForge exchange that might be relevant - one post suggests manufacturers configure the API to fail to make 48 mpx available to third-party apps.

Thanks, that's interesting. I will have to re-read it again to get a better understanding of the binning, etc.

In fact, I don't really see much "benefit" in the few 48 MPx pics I tried, but might revisit that as well (using the native app). I quite like the Open Camera app, except for its long lag time from shutter press to file write.

As for the DNG output in Open Camera, I found that it's available if I set to use Camera2 API.

Thanks.
