Pre-order for Pana GH6

Leaderville in Australia are calling for pre-orders for the GH6. The body only price is $3,699AUD. I just bought the OM-1 direct from Olympus for $3,299 and that includes the freebie of a charger and second battery (if and when it arrives). Not sure if it's a fair comparison but that's a big difference, 12%. Perhaps the video aficionados wouldn't quibble.

In all other markets the price is the same

As part of the pre-order you get a CF Express 128 GB card and of course the camera has a dock for your battery

Have you queried with Panasonic locally as this makes no sense?

I just checked with Panasonic Australia. They don't appear to be selling direct but they list the RRP of the GH6 as $3,699, the same as what Leederville Cameras is asking. I was surprised because normally Leederville offer considerably better than RRP. Ted's cameras are showing the GH6 discounted from $3,699 to $3,499. No mention of freebies. That's a little better though.  Maybe it's an Australian thing for some reason. Wait, Ted's is selling the OM-1 for $200 less than what I paid but no freebie. I thought that OLympus offer of a charger and 2nd battery was too good to be true. Never mind, I probably would have bought the charger and battery anyway at some point.

That is a good price for Ted's. They are normally a bit higher than other stores.

Digidirect have the GH6 body for AUD $3,588 plus you get a SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB CFexpress Card which is worth AUD$389.

Camera Warehouse has the GH6 for AUD$3,598 with the first 10 pre-orders receiving a $400 gift card.
