I really like Rudy Winston and his take on how to best use the AF system on a R5 and R6

Many thanks...this is the best resource I've seen on the R5 auto focusing system.

The enable/disable is still bugging me. It's been like that for years and I now realize that since I am not a native speaker, I don't have the same issues as the natives. I make plenty of mistakes in English, but not that one and I find it confusing.

Thanks to DavidWien's post, I now have 'enabled/disabled' firmly in my head every time I see those 'enable/disable' labels. I am saved from that frustration going forward!...now, if only someone could magically take away all other frustrations...!!!

I know I'm many months late to this discussion, but I struggled with this very issue today during a photoshoot. I'm glad I'm not the only person who has a problem with this design!

I found an interesting discussion over on Stack Exchange on best design for toggle buttons.. maybe Canon should take notes:

https://ux.stackexchange.com/questions/1318/should-a-toggle-button-show-its-current-state-or-the-state-to-which-it-will-chan

The problem with the text "enable" is that it's a verb. Most products with text such as "play", "stop", and "rewind" on or above buttons mean that action will be performed when you press the button. Unfortunately, pressing the "enable" button on the Canon UI means you are performing the exact opposite action!

Thanks for the "enabled/disabled" tip..
