Getting a large, sharp image of the Moon with a telephoto is challenging... You've done a great job!

Nice shot.

I wonder if might be as good with the 1.4X TC though in terms of detail?

A good effort.

I have a couple of suggestions:

You image is slightly overexposed. If you shot in raw, you can probably pull back the exposure to improve the bright areas.

I routinely shoot the Moon at 1250 mm FL f/10 (Celestron C-5 spotting scope). You are not getting  that kind of resolution; maybe your setup is not stable enough, or maybe it's the 2x converter. How does this image compare with a 600 mm image? Or maybe with the 1.4x TC?

I can post a comparison if you like, but I didn't want to hijack your post with one of my images. (Which I took on the day day as yours.)
