I have noticed that the black version sometimes does not show up at bestbuy.com, and then later it will. I've also seen it go in and out of stock. Don't attach any significance to that as an indicator of a new model coming. I just don't think that's the case.

Yeah, I still don’t think that means a new model is coming out, or that the black X100V is discontinued by Fuji. I could be wrong of course, since I am not privy to insider information.  However, Best Buy’s order system seems to have things go in and out a lot, and no other retailers that are photo-centric are reporting that it is discontinued. I don’t see how it would make any sense for Fuji to discontinue it at this time when they cannot fulfill the demand worldwide already. Most places that have the X100V in stock are selling it for hundreds over retail. Guess we’ll see and if there is a new model, good for them.

Fujirumors is usually on top of new releases. There is NO mention of a new X100 camera on their site.

The X100V was announced on 2/4/2020. The X100F was announced in 2017. So probably another year before an X100 m6. I will definitely pre-order when announced.

Another sign that a new camera is not coming is the very high prices for the X100V on eBay. Today used units are selling for $1,500 - $1,600 in many cases. People are paying more than I paid for mine in 2020 ($1,498 NEW).

They had them (black) in stock on Wednesday for just a little while. I flagged a guy on FB who was searching and he picked one up. They do appear - just have to keep checking it.

Correct. Nothing indicates there is a new model coming soon.

X100VI - I would say best case at least march 2023. But if we consider there are components in short supply, could take even more than that.

I know it's a great camera but geez what's with the hype?? People are freaking out, I wonder how they will feel when a new model comes out and people start "dumping their stocks".

That market died long ago and is being resurrected by younger millennials and gen z who never knew  a time when they weren’t connected.   They’re after the prized DigiCam find to match their aesthetic.  It just happens that the X100 series does that and looks pretty.
