Hello...

Not sure but can you take your camera to a nearby camera store to see if it fit?

Thank you. Camera stores are becoming obsolete   Good idea though. I now know that 52mm is the fit and have ordered from Amazon

A nearby camera store? There are becoming fewer and fewer camera stores. Maybe if one lives in a major city they might find one. The nearest camera store from me is around 250 miles. There used to be one about 120 miles from me but they finally closed down 2  yrs. ago.after decades of service.  I haven't been n a Camera store in over 30 years when there was one about 20 miles away. I have to do all my buying on line  so there is no such  thing as seeing a camera first hand anymore. There is a Best Buy but they are not a camera store and don't have squat doodle for gear. Phones  and covid are killing all that is good.

Bejersey, i am interested in your opinion of the SX20 as i currently use a SX30 on occasion.  i assume you may like the size, canon colors, features or perhaps the entertainment value of using an older camera.

thanks.

Hi..

I bought this camera because I just wanted a camera to take with me on errands and pretty much keep in the car. I used to yesterday and I was blown away with the focus accuracy and quality. I bought it from keh.com. 85.00 with 180 day warranty. I think its a one of a kind.Rec'd the gold award here at dpreview.

Rick

This was at a fairly long zoom and converted to b/w. A friend though it was from a Leica.

this is in Ventura, Ca

thanks and very impressive story and photo for such a lower end camera. i bought mine used last year from a used camera store, about $80 and in good shape. many of these older bridge cameras are easily available for under $100 and about the price of many inexpensive DSLR lenses available used.

i wanted the SX40 as it fires more pics per second but the price of these SX cameras have been shooting up last year, so settled for the SX30.

my other bridge camera is the FZ70 which has a longer zoom at 1200mm. a fun camera too and i bought it for nature/family shooting.

after testing both cameras this morning shooting book cases in the house, it seems that the SX30 is a bit more accurate in color than the FZ70; both were shot in Auto mode to see how accurate the camera would be all by itself.

both cameras make fine 'car cameras', but when the weather is very hot or cold, i tend to not leave them in the car.

the cold weather prolly affects these cameras less than the summer heat in a closed up car, wouldn't you think?
