*** Challenge #329: In your garden or yard ***

I always struggle to come up with a challenge as I like to make sure anyone can participate. I've fallen short again this time as I realised not everyone has a garden/yard (people who live in apartments) so if you truely don't have a garden/yard then it can be in someone elses but please make it your own if you have one.

I lived in my previous house (just moved) 24 years but have only been into photography for around 10. When the pandemic hit and the UK went into the first lockdown thankfully the weather was unusually warm and we spent a lot of time in the garden. We were supposed to stay at home except for one daily exercise walk so photography was quite restrictive and I realised there was so much in my garden I've ignored for years. So I want to see your garden/yard shots and although I'd prefer them to be since the pandemic hit you can go further back if you are stuck for entries. Please don't include shots taken in your garden/yard which are outside your garden/yard; I want to see something you saw in your garden/yard.

Rules:

  • This challenge will run until midnight, GMT, February 24th
  • Photos must have been taken with a Nikon camera
  • You're allowed up to three entries, but create a unique post for each please with a unique title
  • Images can have been taken at any time but I'd prefer ones since the pandemic
  • Enjoy

Looking forward to seeing your images.

Martin

Do you walk into an art exhibit or walk up to an artist at his easel and say "let me see a brush, I'll fix it for you"?
That is ludicrous.

Fighting Doves

Had no idea how aggressive the Doves were.

This is one of them fighting with each other, caught them chasing off cardinals and bluebirds.

Entry 1: Hoarfrost is a special occasion. . . .

A recent shot, before the big snow.

Entry 2: Likewise, Dewdrops

Taken in the yard.

Entry 3: Creepy Eye

It's a knothole on a walnut tree; photo is rotated 90 degrees.  The tree is gone now;  that part of the yard was reclaimed as farmland.

No Deposit, No Returns

I have a very small yard.  In fact, yard describes it well.  But, I had a nice garden two summers ago.  The unusually cold winter in between cost me almost everything I had planted the year before.  This plant came back but without any of this fanfare:

Jamie

Credit to my son, Jamie, who did this without the need to mirror it in post. I told him he could just write it normally and we'd mirror it, but he was determined. The red trails between letters are where he covered the torch with his hand.

Sitt'en By The Fire

Our yard is not very big, about 25 x 50 and half is paver blocks. I can cut the grass in about 5 minutes. No flowers, bushes or trees yet. Really my backyard is the 3 community lakes and fountains which I go to quite a lot.
